Your dentists, Dr. Tracey Tabor Williams & Amy Montefalco, and our dental team care about you and your smile, which is why we encourage you to keep your teeth and gums in mind during your holiday parties. There are many things at the parties that can pose a threat to your smile. So, to help you keep your oral health in tip-top shape, our Tracey Tabor Williams, DMD dental team encourages you to do the following things:

-Eat healthy holiday snacks: Instead of reaching for the sugary and starchy snacks, try grabbing foods that are packed with fiber, like carrots, celery, and hard cheeses. If you want to get even crazier, you can chew on some garnish.

-Be smart with your beverage choice: To avoid tooth stains, it’s best to avoid drinking soda, black tea, coffee and wine—both red and white. If you have no choice but to drink these beverages, make sure to wash the liquid away with some water. The best drinks to consume are water and green tea. Water can keep you hydrated and wash away harmful and foul-smelling bacteria and green tea can suppress the growth of bacteria.

-Use quick party freshen-ups: If you need to quickly freshen your mouth, try rinsing with a mixture of water and a few drops of peppermint oil. You can also chew a piece of sugarless gum or eat a piece of sugarless candy. Doing these things will stimulate saliva flow and wash the smelly bacteria away.

Doing these things will help you keep your smile in pristine condition while you celebrate the holidays with your family and friends.
